  • 7 Ways to Use Concentrated Air Fresheners and Keep Chronic Odors Away For Good by Jacquelyn Swint

    1. Spray the fragrance out of the bottle for a nice long-lasting aroma. If the smell doesn’t last for a couple of days, switch brands. You will eventually realice that you may spend less today but will spend more in the end when purchasing those cheap, watered-down air fresheners.

    2. Add the air freshener to your mopping solution on your tile or linoleum floor covering for heavy duty smells in your kitchen or bathroom. Purchase a good concentrated liquid air freshener. For every 3-parts water, add 1-part fragrance.

    3. Spray the freshener on cotton balls and put the cotton balls in your air conditioner vents. This works great around the holidays. Keeps you in the holiday mood.

    4. Pour the fragrance air freshener into your favorite potpourri pot. Make sure that you use a 100% concentrated air freshener if you are trying to burn it. This process makes your home smell great for days to come. What’s more invigorating than to come home after a hard days work and soothe your mood while catering to your soul with an ambiance to die for. It sort of makes the hard day worth it. Be careful if you have allergies.

    5. Refreshen the fragrance sachet in your lingerie drawer by squirting it with your favorite fragrance air freshener. Give a little spice to your undearwear. Men, there is hope for those “tightie whities” afterall.

    6. Add water, if the air freshener is concentrated, to create a mist for those gentle odors and spray it whenever and wherever needed. This works best for those not so challenging odors.

    7. Mix the concentrated fragrance with your steam cleaning vacuum for tough, nagging odors like pet, smoke and other chronic odors. I am sure that you probably can identify with the frustration you may have experienced when your pet urined or defacated on your carpet. You probably thought that you would never get the odor out. In addition, when your husband walked around the house with his cigar and the smell lasted for days. I have found that most people who smoke, do not like the smell of smoke because the smell gets into their clothes, hair, etc. and lasts for days. Simply pour 1-part fragrance to 3-parts water in your vacuum and your carpet, home, etc. will smell fresh and clean for several days.

Go ahead and have fun while experimenting. Create the perfect ambiance just for you. After all, life is full of smells. It is up to YOU how YOU choose to handle them.

  • Picking the Perfect Fragrance for You by Jan Morgan

Fragrance is a billion dollar industry. You can buy it almost anywhere. As in music, a fragrance is composed of notes consisting of three phrases when used. A top note is the initial impression of the scent. It lasts less than a minute. As the fragrance interacts with chemistry, the next aroma is the heart note. Several minutes later, the base or final note becomes evident. Only when the base note emeres will the true fragrance reveal itself.

You may have noticed how fragrances seem different in winter than in summer, different when you are happy or sad and still different when you are ill or well. Those differences are not imaginary--weather, chemistry and even moods affect fragrance.

To find out which fragrance smells best, think about what smells you like whether it is fruity, musky, flowery, etc. In addition, spend some time with the fragrance. Smell it again an hour later. Smell it again at the end of the day. If you can still smell the fragrance, then it probably is a good quality smell that will last. This may help you make a decisIon. You may be wise to use lighter scents in the daytime and reserve your heavy, woodsy scents in the evening. The general rule is the earlier the hour, the lighter the scent.

Spraying is better than dabbing fragrance with fingers, because your skin oils can enter the bottle and cause the perfume to spoil faster. Spraying fragrance will also result in a finer, more even application. Store your fragrance bottles away from direct sunlight and extreme heat. The sun can damage delicate fragrance oils even though the bottles may be dark colored. If you are spraying the fragrance in your car, homr or office, spray it in the carpet, for fragrance rises.

Depending on whether your personality is introverted or extroverted, fragrance tones range from deep and mysterious, (vanillas), to light and airy (citrus, rose, gardenia and jasmine). You want first to determine which part of your personality you want to express. Choose a fragrance to accentuate who YOU are. In addition, you may supplement your natural body's pheromones (naturally occuring body chemicals that send out subconscious scent signals that trigger powerful responses in the opposite sex).

Nevertheless, fragrances are fun to experiment with. You may find that the smell you like in your house, you may like another type of smell in your car or office. Choosing the right fragraNce can add positive energy all around you. Have fun experimenting!

  • Tips for a Fresh Smelling Home by Monica Resinger

A fresh smelling home can help lift your spirits and help you feel better
even on rough days. Unfortunately, daily life can leave your home smelling not
so fresh. Fried foods and pets are just a couple of things out of many that
can spoil a fresh smelling home. Here are a few tips to help you rid unwanted
odors and get your home smelling fresh:

~ If it's not too cold outside, open the front and back door of your home to
    air out any stale air.

~ Soak a cotton ball with essential or aroma oil, perfume or vanilla and put
it into your clean vacuum bag or canister. When you vacuum, it will release
    the scent.

~ Dab essential or aroma oil onto light bulbs; when they are turned on, the
heat of the bulb will release the aroma.

~ If you have odors from cooking lingering, be sure to clean up the cooking
mess as soon as possible; this will help the odors to dissipate sooner.

~ Candles nowadays can be richly scented. I like the ones in jars because
you can simply remove the lid to release the aroma of the candle rather than
    burn it.

~ Car air fresheners aren't only for cars... hang them from lamp switches,
kitchen cupboard knobs or other hangable places.

I hope these tips help you in getting your home smelling fresh. If you'd
